Short Sale Marketing | Real Estate Marketing | What is a short sale ...

There are a million things that need to be burned into your senses and your brain. Family, friends, love, happiness, and providing for all of them in your selected business?

It is assumed by MANY that I have somehow become a tree-hugging-hippie who does not understand the impact of money as the Czar of Short Sale Advocacy?

Nothing could be further from the truth!

You must get a short sale listing, process the short sale listing, and then you get paid. To get the listing you must focus on outreach and helping the homeowner long before you get the listing AND there is NO script on the planet that will teach you how to be a genuine advocate, you either are or you are not!

These are the three funnels that will get you listings which will then get you paid!

Quick experiment?

www.google.com

Enter you name?

Are you on page 1 with your website?

If you have a very ?unusual? last name, like ?honish? you had better be on page one, however if you have a more common name like ?smith?, ?guzman? or ?duncan? then you may have a bit of an issue getting onto page one.

THAT?S A PROBLEM!

Next experiment?

www.google.com

Enter your city and the words ?short sale?, ?city short sale??

Are you on page 1 with your website?

Probably not and that?s a HUGE problem! The interesting fact is that the people who you see on page one of Google, more than likely do not have to do ANY marketing and their web presence actually generates new listings.

CLICK HERE for the formula for page one on Google and it?s FREE!

This is a bitter pill to swallow for most, but the reality is that you must educate everyone in the short sale market. The true reality is that 80-90% of the short sale universe is comprised of 2 groups:

1. Those that make money on real estate agents and in fact do not know SQUAT about real life short sales but bleed agents of money with snake oil and promises!

2. Those who are real estate agents who think they know about short sales from the training of bad sources because they paid for the training.

Keep it simple for success, you must position yourself as an advocate to overcome your own personal demons and personal fears about the current real estate market. To do this there is really only one way to re-educate yourself as an educator.

Teach people for free!

Homeowners and other agents need an education on the subject of real life short sales and it falls on your shoulders to be that person.

CLICK HERE and get a FREE seminar room!

While this ultimately will be perceived as me doing an ?up sale? for the MONSTER? marketing program on direct marketing?

This is more about a commentary about what is successful?

Getting the ?right? and correct DATA is everything when it comes to direct marketing and the sources that most agents use is woeful at best!

PRE-NOD-61/91 DQ DATA!

Personally, use whatever marketing approach you want, the MONSTER? works and it?s inexpensive and it?s step by step AND it?s tested to get listings?

CLICK HERE for pre-nod data information

Whatever you do, do something! It is summer and there are NO properties to list other than short sales and with the FREEZE on REO listings, buyers will want to buy ?something? and if you aren?t working short sales you will probably be out of business by the end of summer?

Open source mini sub appeals to our inner Steve Zissou

Quadrocopters haven't exactly opened the skies for DIY exploration so much as they have for acrobatic feats, but the OpenROV project is hoping to make the briny depths friendlier for aspiring explorers and educators alike. The open source rover, spearheaded by NASA engineer and researcher Eric Stackpole, sinks to depths of up to 300 feet (100 meters), runs on eight C-cell batteries for approximately 1.5 hours and can clip by at three feet (one meter) per second. Within the laser-cut acrylic frame, a sealed cylinder houses a BeagleBone, HD webcam and LED lights. This all weighs in at 5.5 pounds and is piloted using a web browser and video feed. The footage is then piped up to a laptop that tethers the vehicle to the shore. Pre-orders for OpenROV 2.3 kits will be taken through Kickstarter later this summer at $750 apiece, though there are plans to sell fully assembled units. For now, explorers can register their interest at the link below and impatient Jacques Cousteaus will be pleased to know that all files necessary to build version 2.2 are available to download now.

Seahawks confirm tryout for Brian Banks

(AP) ? Brian Banks will get a crack at the NFL, even if it's simply a tryout.

The Seattle Seahawks confirmed Wednesday they will hold a tryout for Banks, a former high school football star who was exonerated last week in a California rape case in which he was falsely accused.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll did not speak following the Seahawks' offseason workout on Wednesday, but the team confirmed that Banks will work out for the team on June 7.

"This is what I have dreamed about my entire life," Banks said in a statement from the California Western School of Law, home of the California Innocence Project. "I am ready to show the NFL what I am capable of doing. I want as many opportunities with as many NFL teams who are willing to give me a shot."

Seattle may not be the only team. The statement says a half-dozen NFL teams have gotten in contact with Banks, and ESPN.com reported some of those include the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins.

Banks' attorney, Justin Brooks, head of the California Innocence Project, could not be immediately reached for comment.

The 26-year-old Banks pleaded no contest 10 years ago on the advice of a lawyer after a childhood friend falsely accused him of attacking her on their high school campus. Last Thursday, a judge threw out the conviction that sent Banks to prison for more than five years.

It's not surprising Carroll and the Seahawks appear to be the first ones willing to give Banks a shot.

Before the charges, Banks was a star middle linebacker at Long Beach Polytechnic High School and was attracting interest from college football powerhouses such as USC, Ohio State and Michigan. He gave a verbal commitment to USC to play for Carroll.

Then, a teenage girl Banks had known since childhood claimed he had raped her. He was arrested and, on advice of counsel, pleaded no contest to rape and an enhancement of kidnapping in order to avoid a possible life sentence if tried by a jury.

Banks served five years and two months in prison, but in a strange turn of events, the woman, Wanetta Gibson, later recanted her claim and offered to help Banks clear his name after he was out of jail. Banks was on probation and was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet at the hearing last week where he was completely exonerated.

At the press conferences that followed the court hearing, Brooks appealed to NFL teams to give Banks a chance. He said Banks has been training six days a week to get in shape for the career he wants.

"He has the speed and the strength. He certainly has the heart," Brooks said. "I hope he gets the attention of people in the sports world."

Approaches To Keep Away From Receiving Heartburn By Avoiding ...

Heartburn or acid reflux is an avoidable disorder. Acid reflux is simply the condition that results from the stomachs inability to contain acid which causes the acid in the stomach to back up into the throat or esophagus. Few instances are related to a medical condition. Usually however it?s caused by something you?ve done or have a habit of doing. Read on to find ways to prevent the potential causes of this condition.

In most cases, the main cause of acid reflux is eating the wrong type of foods. When it is caused by the wrong foods it is called heartburn, which is generally temporary. Regular heartburn sufferers should think very carefully about their food choices. Do you often eat spicy food? Are you eating chocolate often? Do you eat food loaded with garlic? Foods that contain tomato as an ingredient can also cause heartburn. Avoiding these common ingredients is not as difficult as it may sound. Cutting chocolate out of your diet may not be fun but it?s bound to be better than dealing with heartburn.

Is your weight under control? We understand that this is a sensitive question. Considering one?s weight is never easy. Acid reflux is greatly influenced by a person?s weight, however. Those with weight in the obese range or even overweight range, are more likely to suffer from acid reflux than those with weight in the normal range. You may be able to cure other health issues by getting your weight under control. Your acid reflux and weight gain may be caused by the same foods. So, if you cut them out you?ll already have a head start on curing both problems.

Eating a heavy meal and then bending over can bring on an acid reflux attack. This is because, when your stomach is full, it produces more acid to help break down your meal so that it can be fully absorbed by your body. When your stomach is full, you are more likely to experience fluctuations in the ?little flap? that keeps your food and stomach acid in your stomach. This flap can fail when you bend over which is what causes the acid to flow into your esophagus and sometimes your mouth. Stay upright after you eat!

You can minimize the importance of acid reflux in your daily life. If you pay attention to the causes of acid reflux in your case, you can learn how to prevent attacks from taking place. You can often make relatively small changes to avoid these causes. If a certain food is causing you problems, you can stop eating it. Once in a while the cause is medical, but for the most part, this is a disorder caused by lifestyle.

These tips will help you to get rid of your heartburn or acid reflux, however, if you really want to get the best results you should follow a full system that offers correct nutrition plan and powerful strategies to get rid of acid reflux disease naturally and safely.

Kevin Pietersen won?t appeal Twitter rant at Nick Knight fine

Pietersen?s employers deemed that the batsman?s remarks were ?prejudicial to the interests of the ECB? and he has been fined about ?3,000, which will go to an ECB-supported charity. Pietersen was punished after a hearing in Nottingham organised by coach Andy Flower and Hugh Morris, the managing director of England cricket.

Although Pietersen is thought to consider the punishment somewhat severe, Standard Sport understands the 31-year-old is ready to let the matter lie. He could contest the decision but sources close to Pietersen suggest that going through an appeals process would be an unnecessary distraction.

Knight said he was unworried by the remarks of Pietersen, who described his presence on the Sky team for home series as ?ridiculous?. But Sky is a major commercial partner of the ECB, with a new ?260million, four-year deal to broadcast England matches live signed this year.

Pietersen has come a cropper on Twitter before. He was fined in 2010 for an outburst, which he said was a mistake, when he was left out of the one-day series against Pakistan, and later that year he berated Adelaide ground staff during the Ashes for failing to protect net wickets from rain.

Despite the problems it has caused, there are no plans to ban England players from using Twitter. The feeling within the Professional Cricketers? Association is that most England players have mastered the social networking site and that to impose too stringent rules would be counter-productive.

PCA chief executive Angus Porter said: ?We believe the code of conduct with regard to social networking works well.?

Ex Republican congresswoman blasts current GOP and its women Reps

By David Ferguson
Saturday, May 26, 2012 13:20 EDT

?

Former Representative Claudine Schneider (R-RI) believes that the Republican Party is heading in the wrong direction. According to Think Progress, the moderate Republican believes that today?s Republican Party has no place for centrists like herself, and that the current crop of Republican women in Congress are ?not voting in the interest of all women,? particularly with regards to the question of pay equity.

Schneider joins other disaffected Republicans like former George W. Bush adviser David Frum and The Myth of Heterosexual AIDS author Michael Fumento in decrying a Republican Party that they believe has moved too far to the right. She said that former President Ronald Reagan ?would be embarrassed? by today?s Republicans, who have driven out all but the most extreme candidates in primary elections all over the country.

She is particularly disappointed in women Republicans, who she says are so frightened of losing their primaries, that ?They have drunk the Kool-Aid that makes them think it is more important to win, than to do what is right by ending discrimination. The conservatives have co-opted the primaries and in order to win, they appear to do whatever it will take. Clearly, based on [the voting records of the 24 current Republican Congresswomen], they are NOT voting in the best interest of all women and men, because when women lose, families lose!?

Republican women legislators have formed a caucus called the Women?s Policy Committee, a tack that Schneider dismissed as window-dressing. ?This is merely posturing so that the Republican party might stop hemorrhaging the women?s vote,? she said.

Schneider was instrumental in passing laws protecting the environment, health legislation and gender equity laws like the Economic Equity and the Pension Equity Acts. She served five terms in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 to 1991.

Spurs get 'nasty' to take 1-0 lead over Thunder

SAN ANTONIO (AP) ? Trailing in the fourth quarter, Gregg Popovich snarled an order in the huddle that the NBA Coach of the Year punctuated with a sharp and angry sweep of his hand.

"I want some nasty!"

But truthfully, Popovich was already getting what he really wanted: the San Antonio Spurs finally in a game they might actually lose.

Popovich's caught-on-camera "nasty" command in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals is likely coming soon to T-shirts, Internet memes and the lexicon of the NBA playoffs for the foreseeable future. But after beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 101-98 on Sunday night for their 19th win in a row ? tying the NBA record for longest winning streak kept alive in the playoffs ? Popovich wasn't flustered by the near-loss.

He was almost grateful for it.

"We wanted it about 15 games ago," Popovich said. "At least I did."

Manu Ginobili scored 26 points as the Spurs escaped a tantalizing near-upset for the young Thunder, who came closer than anyone to beating the Spurs for the first time in 46 days. But a nine-point lead didn't last after the famously mercurial 63-year-old Popovich huddled his lagging team together in the fourth and told them to "get nasty."

"I said that?" Popovich said afterward.

A nationally television audience heard it.

"The heat of the game, stuff comes up," Popovich said. "So I talked to them about they've got to get a little bit uglier, get a little more nasty, play with more fiber and take it to these guys. Meaning you have to drive it, you have to shoot it."

And when they did, the Thunder couldn't keep up.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 27 points. Russell Westbrook had 17, and insisted he was OK after taking a spill that was nasty in its own right ? face first, bracing his fall with his hands and sitting under the basket for more than a minute while the entire Thunder bench walked across the court to check on their All-Star point guard.

"I shot good shots, made good passes," Durant said. "Unfortunately, we lost."

After being held to just 16 third-quarter points, San Antonio scored 39 in the fourth. Westbrook chalked it up to a defensive breakdown that "got out of hand" but it still left the Thunder in search of the road win they'll need to in this series to reach the NBA finals for the first time since the franchise moved to Oklahoma City in 2009.

Game 2 is Tuesday night.

"How it happened is irrelevant," Thunder guard Derrick Fisher said of letting a lead slip away. "Whether we lose by 20 or lose by one, we lost."

That's something the Spurs haven't been able to say since April 11. They joined the 2001 Lakers as the only other team to carry a winning streak this long in the playoffs ? and that Los Angeles team did so on its way to a championship.

The Spurs matched the fourth-longest streak in NBA history, and with one more will become just the fourth team to surpass 20. Tim Duncan had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Tony Parker shook off a dismal start to finish with 18 points.

And of getting "nasty"?

"Pop's always trying to motivate us," Parker said.

But it was Ginobili who steered the Spurs to strike first in a highly anticipated matchup of the West's top two teams for practically the entire regular season. In his first game against the Thunder this year ? he was sidelined by injury in the three regular-season meetings ? Ginobili put up a playoff high after sputtering through the first two series.

"It just happened," Ginobili said. "I don't know how exactly because I haven't scored like this all season long, but it happened and I am very happy about it."

On the other end, Oklahoma City's own Big Three struggled to find its shot early before awakening in the second half. Durant, Westbrook and James Harden at one point through the second quarter were 5 of 21 ? a typically ominous stat line for a trio that had been responsible for nearly 70 percent of Oklahoma City's points through the playoffs so far.

The Thunder were ousted in the Western Conference finals a year ago and were in position for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs until being overtaken by the Spurs in the final month of the season. But it was a fittingly close opener for two franchises with so many similarities.

That includes Thunder general manager Sam Presti ? the architect of the Thunder's rapid turnaround from a 23-win season to consecutive Western Conference finals in just four years ? getting his big break in the NBA as an intern in San Antonio.

And the Thunder didn't even need their own Big Three to keep things close.

They leaned on none more so than Fisher, whose famous game-winner for the Lakers on this same court in the 2004 playoffs has made "0.4 seconds" a phrase that needs no further explanation to the Spurs. Eight years later, and the oldest player in this series at 37, Fisher already met his playoff average at halftime and finished with 13 points.

Gary Neal added 12 points and was the only other Spurs player in double figures.

Harden lost in the first round of his matchup with Ginobili, who's also a lefty and a former Sixth Man of the Year winner. Harden finished with 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting but started by missing nine of his first dozen shots.

Tipping off another conference finals couldn't happen soon enough for Oklahoma City. With nothing to do but prepare for the Spurs all week ? and be asked about the Spurs ? the Thunder grew weary of questions about being perceived underdogs. About not having the same championship pedigree. About how they'll possibly stop a team rolling through one of the 10 longest winning streaks in NBA history.

So repetitive were the questions that Durant, visibly annoyed, suggested earlier this week that someone instead ask how the Thunder are going "to come at" the Spurs. That didn't stop Oklahoma City from facing more of the same at shootaround Sunday morning, when Thunder coach Scott Brooks tried quashing again the idea his team was somehow intimidated.

"They're not going to be in awe. They're going to have respect for them," Brooks said. "We know we can beat them."

They've still got to prove it.

Notes: Spurs C DeJuan Blair has given the Thunder fits in his three NBA seasons, including 22 points on them in a March win. But San Antonio's starting center for practically the entire season didn't play for the third consecutive playoff game. "The game will tell us what's appropriate and what's not," Popovich said before tipoff. ...Just because a Boston-Oklahoma City matchup in still possible in the NBA finals doesn't mean center Kendrick Perkins is hopeful about facing his old team. "I really don't care," Perkins said of the Celtics advancing. ...Gov. Rick Perry took in his first Spurs game this year, sitting courtside next to Spurs owner Peter Holt, a major donor to the former Republican presidential candidate.

Genealogy Lines: Preserving Your Food Heritage

My friend, Gena Philibert-Ortega, has written a book on food and heritage. ?When I heard that she was writing and collecting for the book, I thought of all the recipes in my family that have been passed down. ?Maybe we all need to preserve them for our descendants. ?Do you have a treasure trove of family recipes?

Are you one of the lucky genealogists?? Are you? the one person? who inherited the family heirlooms? Maybe you have the family recipe cards, community cookbooks or even the silverware and table linen.? How can you preserve the stories behind these items so that future generations will understand their significance??

The following are just a few ideas for preserving the stories and names of the owners of these items so they can be enjoyed by all family members.

Scrapbook

One way to gather and share in a family?s heritage is through a scrapbook that includes recipes and photos of your family in the kitchen, eating meals, and celebrating. You can create a paper scrapbook that includes copies of photos and recipes along with notes.?

An alternative to a physical scrapbook is a digital scrapbook. Several websites exist for helping you create a digital scrapbook or you can create one using a scrapbook or design software program.

A Family History Book

Consider creating a short family history that includes only a generation or two, complete with narratives telling the story of your female ancestors. In addition to the dates and places important to their lives, add stories of your family and their food traditions. You can also add interest by including photos of you re-creating the dishes with step-by-step instructions.?

Once you create the family history you can print it or provide a digital copy to share with family members. Most office supply and photocopy stores can print out copies of your book and provide various binding options. Family history books don?t need to be complex or costly. There are options available for a variety of family history books. If you are looking to create a book that will be professionally published, look towards a printer that specializes in family history books. Another printing option is to use a print on demand publisher who will only print copies when they are ordered by you or your family. This saves money over traditional publishing methods.

A Family Cookbook

Buttermilk Soup from the Collection of Gena Philibert-Ortega.

What better way to share family recipes and traditions than by creating a family cookbook that combines recipes passed down from earlier generations with the recipes of present-day family members? You can print the book using a cookbook printing company or you can create the book on your own and take it down to your local printer to be duplicated. The benefit of using a specialized cookbook printing company is that they can assist you with the formatting including adding sections, formatting recipes, adding recipes, uploading content online and other considerations.?

Family cookbooks don?t need to be limited to recipes alone. Include the name and photos of the recipe?s contributors, stories about the recipe and other relevant family history photos. Also consider including a pedigree chart or family group sheets as part of the book. If the cookbook is presented in some type of three-ring binder, recipes can be added to the volume at a later date, allowing for additions as they are discovered or written down.?

Blog

Technology has provided us with great ways to share information with others. Many family historians use a website to post their research and their family trees. Another way to share family food history is by writing a blog. Within a matter of minutes, you can start a blog that shares family food memories, photos of family kitchens, dishes, linens, and other food related items. Want to invite others to contribute to your blog? No problem, you can invite other relatives to be co-authors of your blog and share what they have found. One benefit of a blog is that if the blog is made public, rather than private, search engines will include your blog in their hit results, making it easier for other family members to find you and share what they have as well.?

Family Food History Archive

Catalog and preserve cookbooks, recipe cards, kitchen tools, linens, aprons, china, and silver to create a family food history archive. This archive can include photographs and written observations that document food traditions and food-related heirloom and artifacts. Prepare a page for each item that includes the following information:?

  • The name of the item?
  • A physical description of the item (size, weight, color, markings, condition)
  • Where it came from? (any story related to how it was obtained)
  • The chain of ownership (who originally owned it, other owners, who owns it now)
  • Any special stories attached to the item (how it was/is used)
  • Where the item is located now (whose home it is stored in, how it is displayed)
  • Any condition concerns (holes, damage)
  • Photograph of the item

The final product can be in the form of a scrapbook (digital or physical), notebook, album, or electronic document sent to other family members. Include heirlooms that you own but also ask to collect information on heirlooms owned by other family members. The final product will provide a nice history for family members as well as a practical guide to what family heirlooms exist and descriptions should a disaster occur.

These are just a few ideas for preserving the stories behind your family?s food history. For more ideas check out Gena's new book From the Family Kitchen. ?You can also find the book on Google Books and look at some of the pages. ?Be sure to check out Gena's food blog, Food.Family.Ephemera?and her Virtual Book Tour.?

The Efrat Development Company during recent weeks has purchased solar panels to be installed on the roofs of residents of homes in Yehuda and Shomron to permit them to benefit from the abundance of sunlight towards generating electricity.

The company?s director, Edmond Chassin turned to a number of banks for loans to fund the project. One bank refused to even give a bid, the Bank of Jerusalem, unwilling to operate over the Green Line. The bank simply refused to provide any information Chassin reports.

Chassin is calling upon appropriate government regulatory agencies to take appropriate action against the bank for its discriminatory policy.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) ? A late night fight that escalated into gunfire and left at least eight people wounded in Oklahoma City as thousands of spectators left an NBA playoff game just a few blocks away was likely not related to the game, police said Tuesday.

Capt. Dexter Nelson said there have been no arrests in the 11:30pm Monday fight in the Bricktown entertainment district.

"All we're hearing from some of the witnesses is there was pushing and shoving in the area," Nelson said. "Apparently a group of girls got into it with some guys. It was shortly thereafter that gunfire erupted."

Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman Lara O'Leary said seven people were taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds and that a pregnant woman was also taken to the hospital after she was assaulted in the scuffle.

O'Leary said the woman and six of the gunshot victims are in good condition Tuesday morning. One person is in critical condition.

Nelson said it wasn't clear what sparked the gunfire or if anyone involved had attended the Chesapeake Energy Arena to see Oklahoma City Thunder eliminate the Los Angeles Lakers to advance in the playoffs.

"It doesn't appear that what happened had anything to do with the game," he added.

Nelson said police are struggling to track down witnesses but are checking with nearby businesses that may have surveillance cameras that captured the incident.

A spokesman for the Thunder did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment on Tuesday.

Best Android apps for VoIP and SIP calls | Android Chief

Staying connected has never been so easy, thanks to the modern-day smartphone, keeping us in touch with our friends even when they are out of reach. With advancements in the field of communications, smartphones have also evolved in how we communicate with other people.

Thanks to VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology, users can now get in touch with the special people in their lives by using the Internet connection on their phones. Since VoIP relies on the Internet, calling someone is relatively free of charge, with the exception of possible charges for using the Internet data connection.

Here are some of the best VoIP applications that are available in the Google Play Store.

Skype is arguably one of the best VoIP services being used all around the world, and remains as popular as ever, keeping faithful to its service by giving users free Skype-to-Skype video calls. The Android version of Skype still packs a lot of punch and provides the same features as its desktop counterpart.

Users of Skype for Android version will be able to make free Skype video calls, send instant messages, and voice calls via 3G or Wi-Fi. Not only that, users can make low-cost calls and send SMS messages to other mobile users directly using their Android phones.

?

?

Once you get used to the buddy system on Fring, there?s no telling when you will stop chatting with your online buddies. Fring for Android is an innovative mobile application that lets you communicate and stay connected with your friends in a fun and easy-to-use environment.

Fring is not your ordinary buddy messenger. It is a complete package of all the best communication tools available on the Internet. Users can either choose from Fring?s list of communication services such as a 4-way group video chat, 1-on-1 video chat via 3G or Wi-Fi, or hook up with friends courtesy of the Live Texting feature.

Enjoy high quality video chat, thanks to Fring?s video calling DVQ technology that will give users the best video and audio quality possible, as it automatically adjusts to your data connectivity.

?

?

For those of you who are looking for separate lines for calling and texting on Android, Line2 is definitely the right app for you. Whether it?s used for business or personal use, Line2 is an exceptional app that serves as a landline replacement and will keep your mobile number private.

Take advantage of Line2?s different calling options. Choose from Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G connections, depending on the service that you have applied for. In addition, users can benefit from the unlimited calls from U.S. to Canada, absolutely free. The app also supports SMS messaging with 24-hour support for the service. Line2 also has a built in Caller ID, call waiting, and call forwarding among its several features. There is a paid plan that gives you access to voicemail and conference calling.

?

Tango has already been considered as one of the best free video call/chat apps for Android. What makes Tango the prime choice for many users is its top-notch voice calls. Tango has very good quality when it comes to making VoIP calls. It also easily integrates with any Android phone. Users can have free calls via 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi connection.

Tango seamlessly integrates with any device and is always ready to receive calls 24/7. This is a huge plus factor for users who heavily rely on VoIP calls as a means of transacting business or personal matters. Another plus factor for Tango is the fact that you don?t have to disconnect when you don?t want to use the service. Tango is always connected, even when you?re not using the service. This can easily eat up your phone?s battery, since the app always stays connected to the Internet.

?

?

Viber from Viber Media, is another excellent app that allows you to make free VoIP calls using your data plan. Viber basically functions the same as Tango but has better sound quality when it comes to making calls. With the use of Viber?s cutting-edge HD sound quality, phone calls are much better than GSM calls.

Viber is simple to use and lets you connect with friends easily, as it synchronizes your contact lists almost instantly once you launch the application. Gone are the days when you had to manually set your own contacts or build usernames from scratch. Unlike Tango, Viber has good battery management and runs in the background. With over 40 million Viber users around the world, staying connected has never been so easy.

?

Developed by Belledonne Communications, Linphone is another popular VoIP application that lets you make free calls, as well as video calls. Linphone is not your ordinary VoIP app, as it is opensource and is constantly updated and developed by the community.

Linphone uses SIP for its connections, making your calls sound good while keeping bandwidth at a minimum. This is quite handy for users who have a tight restriction on their data plan. Linphone also offers video calls to other users using MPEG4 and H264 codecs, but it is only made available to ARMv7 devices. It also supports a wide variety of audio codecs like iLBC, G711, GSM, G722, and Silk, just to name a few. The app also introduces audio multi-call and conferencing if you have multiple users on the line. Linphone also features echo cancellation, address book integration, and call history.

?

?

Here?s a groovy application that will surely satisfy your calling cravings. Groove IP Lite from Snrb Labs is an Android application that connects to Google Voice using VoIP. Users of Groove IP Lite can make free unlimited calls to any phone in the United States or Canada without costing a cent on voice minutes. Groove IP Lite works on any Android device, allowing you to make calls over a Wi-Fi connection.

Turn any ordinary mobile phone into a fully featured phone without paying any charges to your carrier. For those of you calling with a data network plan, each call uses 1.2 MB of data. If you?d like to do away with ads and to get more features, you can also purchase Groove IP?s pro version.

?

?

VoIP apps couldn?t get much simpler and easier to use than with CSipSimple for Android. CSipsimple is just the same as the VoIP apps you can find on the market but it is also one of the simplest to use. CSipSimple connects via WiFi just the same as those wired IP phones but minus the connection delay.

The user-interface has a minimalist feel and pretty much resembles the stock dialer found on most Android phones. The app features multi-accounts, call recording, supports a multitude of codes, as well as themes. The only downside of CsipSimple is that it uses a higher amount of bandwidth than any other VoIP app.

?

?

Want to make cheap calls without bleeding your budget? If the answer is yes then say hello to WiCall from Zenitalk. Make cheap calls using WiCall and choose from WiFi or 3G connection. WiCall is cheaper than most VOIP service available in the Google Play Store and undoubtedly better than Skype and Viber.

WiCall is basically a prepaid mobile wireless telephone service with no plans and contract to maintain; that makes calling cheaper than most VoIP services. Compared to Skype, Wicall doesn?t need a connection, neither does it ask you for a maintenance fee as your credits can last the whole year round. WiCall bypasses regular carrier restrictions and any VoIP calls you make are automatically routed via WiFi or any connection that you have at your home or at the office.

?

?

Here?s something that is so simple to use that you don?t have change any additional settings to get started. Transform any ordinary Android phone to a Walkie Talkie, just by downloading TiKL Touch Talk Walkie Talkie.

Instantly communicate with someone or a group of friends with a single tap of a button. No set-up is required as the app only requires your phone contacts or Facebook friends to start communicating. The app is fast, simple and reliable as TiKL turns your phone into the ultimate Push To Talk Walkie Talkie.

TiKL works by connecting through a WiFi. 3G, 4G, EDGE and GPRS connection so you don?t have to worry about voice charges from your carrier. Get free real time one-on-one push-to-talk calls at lightning fast speed or go global by taking group voice push-to-talk calls with friends from other networks.

?

?

If you are fond of making international calls then look no further than Google Voice. What makes Google Voice the top choice among VoIP applications is Google?s interconnectivity with its products. Google Voice eliminates the problem of having to use multiple numbers for different purposes as users can enjoy a single number and still be connected with their close circle of friends, even if it?s for business or personal use.

Creating a Google Voice account is easy as you just need to sign-up for a Google account. Google Voice has also a built in voicemail system that allows users to eavesdrop on someone during the recorded message. SMS is power, and Google Voice is fully integrated with it. Google Voice is not limited to just chit chat, but also allows you to send text messages to someone from anywhere in the world. Not only that, Google Voice also allows you to make cheap international calls using your own Google number.

?

?

With an abundance of VoIP apps available for Android devices, you?ll be able to make calls to anywhere in the world using your Internet connection. Save money on making calls today. If your favorite VoIP app didn?t make it to our list, let us know what your VoIP app of preference is in a comment.

1.)? Global Coordinator, Girls Not Brides, London, UK? ? Last Week To Apply

See: http://girlsnotbrides.org/were-recruiting-global-partnership-coordinator/1756/

Girls Not Brides is seeking an experienced, energetic and committed Global Coordinator to lead a small team in supporting and coordinating the Partnership?s global drive towards a world without child marriage. Closing date for applications: 6pm GMT on Monday 21 May 2012 An exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic global initiative ? Initiated by The Elders, Girls Not Brides brings together a broad range of non-governmental and civil society organisations from across the world working to address child marriage at the grassroots, national and global levels. The Partnership works to empower those seeking to end child marriage, to raise awareness of the harmful impact of this practice and potential solutions, and to call for urgent global action. ? The Global Coordinator will lead a London-based secretariat of five people in their work with Girls Not Brides members to accelerate efforts to reduce and ultimately end child marriage. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the growth of Girls Not Brides and its impact on this neglected issue. ? Every year, an estimated 10 million girls worldwide are married before they turn 18, usually with no say in when or whom they marry. Child brides are almost always forced to leave school when they marry, cutting their education short and trapping them and their children in poverty. Child marriage also threatens girls? lives and health through early pregnancy and childbirth. ? Since Girls Not Brides launched in September 2011, more than 100 organisations from over 30 countries have joined the Partnership, with a shared commitment to help girls at risk of child marriage realise their full potential. The Partnership has helped to build considerable impetus on child marriage, including increased media attention and greater inclusion of child marriage on the agenda of high-level meetings on development-related issues. ? The ideal candidate will have experience with taking an overlooked global or policy issue to higher visibility and generating results-oriented action. S/he will have the instincts, sensitivity and know-how to encourage diverse people and groups to coalesce around a cause and join forces for demonstrable change. The candidate will need to be equally at ease with marshalling the substance of global advocacy strategies and interacting with grassroots change-makers. S/he will be able to ensure that the work of the Girls Not Brides continues to expand and have impact, often working behind the scenes with Partnership members and others. ? Girls Not Brides is member-driven and has a simple structure. The work of the Global Coordinator and secretariat will be guided and supported by an Advisory Committee representing Partnership members. Funding for the early phases of Girls Not Brides? work has been raised by Partnership members. As Girls Not Brides and its work continue to grow, the Global Coordinator will need to renew and mobilise new resource commitments to sustain and expand the effort. ? Responsibilities ??Develop and implement the Girls Not Brides? strategy and campaign plans in collaboration with members; ??Liaise with Girls Not Brides members to identify strategic opportunities and coordinate and support advocacy efforts, including convening meetings of members; ??Build, support and drive joint advocacy and campaign activities to increase public and political support for ending child marriage, by harnessing the complementary expertise, talents and resources of different Girls Not Brides members and partners; ??Work with the secretariat to facilitate learning networks and information-sharing throughout the Partnership; ??Solidify and expand national and regional Girls Not Brides networks, with an emphasis on leadership from those regions most impacted; ??Communicate information about Girls Not Brides to external actors (such as government officials, journalists, international organisations, and donors); ??When appropriate, represent Girls Not Brides in meetings with external actors; ??Identify and facilitate the involvement of potential new members, partners and donors; ??Further strengthen the Partnership?s structure as an independent and self-sustaining entity, including ensuring on-going funding; ??Supervise and provide day-to-day guidance to the secretariat, which includes a Communications Officer, a Programme Officer, a Partnership Adviser for Africa and two interns. Recruit and manage consultants and other additional capacity as required; and ??Forge new alliances and create champions for ending child marriage across the public, private and NGO sectors, and across organisations working in different areas (health, education, livelihoods, etc.). Requirements ??Demonstrated experience and qualifications in political science, public policy, sociology, anthropology, international development or another relevant field; an understanding of child marriage and/or gender policy issues is desirable; ??Demonstrated ability to develop and manage effective international policy initiatives and advocacy strategies; campaigning experience is a plus; ??Demonstrated experience and expertise in working with and building coalitions, particularly across regions in Asia, Africa and/or Middle East. ??Keen political antennae, agility across cultural environments, and diplomatic finesse; ??Interpersonal skills and qualities that enable her/him to empower and inspire others to greater effort, commitment and action; ??Awareness of the importance of media messaging and media relations; prior experience in using communications as a tool for social change is desirable; ??Experience working with minimal supervision and delivering the utmost with a small staff team; ??A keen eye for accuracy and detail; ??Highly effective administration skills including computing and budget management; fundraising and events planning experience is a plus; ??Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in another relevant language, such as Arabic or French is highly desirable; The Girls Not Brides secretariat is currently based in the London office of The Elders. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate. ? How to apply ? Please send a concise CV and one page cover letter demonstrating how you meet the criteria for this position to Jobs@GirlsNotBrides.org, clearly stating ?Global Coordinator? in the subject line. Due to the large number of applications expected, only short-listed candidates will be contacted. Closing date for applications: 6pm GMT on Monday 21 May 2012.
